Nick Berry
I met Nick around 2006, shortly after I’d moved to Nashville. He’s an amazing human and over the years has become my best friend. Good things happen when Nick is around. Here’s a more “official” bio from his website:
Nick was born and raised in Southwest Florida and studied mass communications at Middle Tennessee State University. In 2009, following many aspirations, he moved to Los Angeles, where he currently resides with his partner Joe and their dogs, Storm and River. Outside of his professional work, Nick is deeply involved in the Southern California community. He serves on the board of directors for the Sin City Classic sports tournament, the largest annual LGBTQ+ sporting event in the world. An Avid swimmer, Nick stays active as a softball player with the West Hollywood Swingers and other sports in the Los Angeles area.
Octavia Nasr
Octavia and I met when she was Senior Editor for Mideast Affairs at CNN and I was running a popular CNN fan blog. (I was such a nerd for CNN back then.) She took me under her wing and it was great to learn at the feet of one of the masters who helped build CNN’s strategy in the early days of social media. I’m lucky to have Octavia in my life.
